What readers are saying:
"I absolutely LOVE this series!! This is California charm vs Texas down home goodness at it's finest. Mason is a gorgeous former child star turned California senator that hides the demons of his past through his playboy ways, never allowing anyone to get close. Chelle is a beautiful, sweet, and very innocent 25 year old that's trying to decide what she wants to do with
the rest of her life. After a hilarious, yet embarrassing encounter at the wedding, they both can't stop thinking about the other. When she ends up in California and what was supposed to be fake ends up becoming more real, will they both be able to handle it? Or will Mason's past get in the way of his happiness once again?
This has a wonderful plot, well developed characters that you'll immediately love, a truly heartfelt story about loss, love, and learning to forgive, it will have you
ready to cry one minute and then laughing out loud the next, some very romantic & also seriously hot sex, and is one of those rare stories that captures your heart and stays with you long after the last word. I love how Chelle stood up to everyone, including Mason, showing them that just because she was innocent in the bedroom, that she is also smart, strong, and fierce when it comes to getting what she wants. The way she never overreacted to any situation, used the wisdom that her elders
taught her to help teach Mason about love, family, and strength of character, and that no matter what, family always stands beside you was refreshing and beautiful. It made me love this story that much more!
Although this book and each one in this series can be read as a stand alone, I strongly suggest that you read them all. Not only because they are all amazing stories, but you will get more out of each one by doing so. Mrs. Cardello is a fabulous author and is definitely one of my most
favorites! Her stories are unique, captivating, strong characters that are easy to relate to and love, and are all truly exceptional! I can't wait for the next book in this series and hope she writes really fast! Lol!! I definitely recommend this book and series to everyone who loves a great romantic comedy!
I received this book from the publisher through NetGalley in exchange for a honest review."
"Taken Home is a third book in Lone Star Burn series by Ruth Cardello. I have read each and every book by this author and absolutely love her. She has a way with words that just touches your heart. This book is about Chelle Landon and Mason Thorne. Chelle is a 25 yrs old virgin who lives in a small town of Fort Mavis in Texas. This story starts with how Chelle meets a former child actor/movie star turned California State Senator
Mason Thorne and how they fall into a fake engagement. It was a journey for Chelle to discover herself and alongside with her Mason seems to discover his true self as well. I was laughing out loud at times and smiling at other times reading this book. Chelle was my favorite character in this story, she is sweet, lovable and strong. I loved how the characters developed and grew throughout the whole story. I highly recommend this book to all the readers who loves a good love story with strong
characters. This can be read as a standalone."
"I love how this characters developed throughout the story and a how they worked their way to loving each other. Mason really is my favorite character in this series and this story made him even more endearing to me. He’s very much flawed but I liked how he tried to be better. Chelle and her family was adorable too.
And once again, this is not just a story of love
but of friends and family and how important they are. It’s very much a Ruth Cardello story but a little sexier than her other novels and series." |
