Dear Amazing Readers:
Well Played is finally here!
When J.S. Scott asked me if I wanted to write new romance series with her, I said yes without hesitation. I was a fan of her writing even before I met her.
I believe people come into our lives for a reason.
Jan has been an inspiration to me from day one. She is a strong, independent woman who has not let adversity nor tragedy harden her heart. When I am faced with challenges in my personal life, I often think of what she has overcome and draw strength from her example.
What was writing with her like? Although this wasn't our first project together (Remember our Trillionaires?), it was our first serious one. Rather than plotting it over drinks, we met up, talked
about serious issues that were important to both of us and outlined a romance with real heart. We tossed chapters back and forth as the story came alive. I felt giddy each time I opened my email to find another chapter from her. I like to think she felt the same.
The characters were so real, so beautifully flawed. I loved each twist and turn.
Both of us have a real appreciation for the other's writing style and
it shows. Not only is this a story of a man and woman falling in love--it's also the opportunity to see a character from my head falling for one from hers. Well Played will forever be one of my favorite books because of how it came together.
The experience was so incredible we've decided to write a second book together: Well Received(available for pre-order now)
Call me
surprised! I just wasn't expecting this story at all. I have read Scott and Cardello's works before so I was expecting a storyline along those lines but, damn, what these two created together was brilliant. I love it! This book fed a few of my guilty pleasures...best friend betrayal, best friend's little sister, friends to lovers, and topped all off with a sports theme. Yup, I am one HAF bookwhore! This was shocking, angsty, emotional, sexy, and even had little doses of humor splashed in
that broke up that serious tone. I am just so pleasantly surprised who well the Scott/Cardello duo work together. The story flowed between POVs and never felt choppy. This is a collaboration done right. This bookwhore just added a new duo to my faves to <s>stalk</s>, I mean, keep an eye on.
When is a mistake not a mistake? When it's meant to be? Well Played is the ultimate double team. J.S. Scott brings the heated complications of romance and Ruth Cardello brings the humor and heart. Betrayal sets the stage for an emotional roller coaster ride. Lauren is caught up in the storm of love, secrets and loss. Graham is her heart's desire, but the event that brings them together is rapidly tearing their
friendship apart. What once was precious is on the verge of becoming a battlefield. Will these soul mates survive the war? No one does love like J.S. Scott and Ruth Cardello. Separately, they make their mark, together they are a force to be reckoned with. Grab hold of your heart because, this love story is going to be a bumpy ride.
