Dear Readers,
Â
There's not much I love more than revisiting old friends in my stories.Â
 Â
Gavin is one HOT alpha, determined to live his life on his terms. No one, not even Dominic Corisi, can stop him when he sets his sights on Riley.
Â
Riley is trying to take care of her mother while navigating what it means to be Dominic Corisis' sister. Their story will having you promising yourself that you'll only read one more page before bed only to finish the book in one read.Â
Â
I have 40 advanced copies sitting in my closet looking for a home! If you'd like a chance to have one sent to you, send an email to rcardello@ruthcardello.com and tell me something you're enjoying about the series. I'll randomly choose 40 people to send a signed copy to. For those who like rare items, these were advanced copies so no more of them will be

Gavin:
Â
My eyes flew open and I rose to my feet as I recognized the voice as one I hadnât expected to hear again. For a second I wondered if Iâd drifted off to sleep and conjured her up, but she was wearing far too much clothing for that to be the case. âRiley, right?â I asked as if there  a
chance I might have forgotten her name. Â Â Â Â Damn, she was even more beautiful than I remembered. She was dressed in white jeans that hugged her curves in a way that sent my heart racing and a striped blue denim shirt that was unbuttoned just low enough to bring a flush to my cheeks. When she smiled, my mind went completely blank. For an instant there were just the two of us and a pulsing attraction unlike anything Iâd felt before.
âI hope I didnât ruin your nap.â She tucked her hands into the front pockets of her jeans as she referenced the bench behind me.
The wind blew a section of her hair across her face. She tucked it behind one of her ears. She really did have the most incredible eyes. âWell, I hope I didnât disturb you. I was just heading in, recognized you, and thought I should say hello. Iâm new to the building.â
My eyebrows rose. âYou live here?â
    âYes?â
The uncertainty of her response paired with an awkward shrug of her shoulder was briefly confusing. The Terraamum Building boasted some of the most expensive apartments in Boston. When the most likely explanation occurred to me, disappointment followed. âYour boyfriend does,â I said with
certainty.
âNo boyfriend.â She blushed and looked away.
So heâs married. âI honestly donât care.â
Her gaze flew back to meet mine. âWow. Rude. No wonder you require a nondisclosure. You wouldnât want people spilling the secret that youâre an ass.â She took a step away.
I should have let her go. I couldnât. Instead I reached out and touched her arm. âWhat I meant was your personal life is none of my business.â
âThat doesnât actually sound any better.â She looked down at my hand and frowned. I broke contact.
The world was full of beautiful women. There was no need to steal one from another man. There was something about this one, though, that brought out a territorial side of me I would have said I didnât have. I had to ask: âIs he good to you?â
âWho?â She was either a very good liar or I was misreading the situation.
âThe man who owns the apartment youâre staying in.â
There it wasâthat frown again. âI own it. Me.â
    âGenerous of him.â
Her eyes darkened. âYes, it was. And unnecessary, because I prefer my place in Locktonâmy neighbors are friendlier.â
So sheâd held on to her old place. That spoke volumes about where she thought things were headed with whoever was payrolling her time in the Terraanum. âFriendly. Is that what he allows you to be when heâs not around?â     The whole you-would-stand-me-up act had likely been
just that . . . something she used to pick up men on the side. Nothing unheard of for a young woman in her situation. Security must have come from looking one man ahead. I hated the idea of her with some old geezer, though. She didnât have the appearance of a gold digger, but perhaps that was her appeal.
Her hands went to her hips. âWhy does everything you say sound like an insult?â
She had me there. There was zero chance of things progressing between us now that I knew her deal, so the truth wouldnât make a difference. âI had a different impression of you, and I donât like being wrong.â
âI had a different impression of you as well.â Her expression turned sad. âI wished you could find whatever it was that would make you happy, but I have to stop worrying so much about what other people are going through. I have the right to be happy too. My decisions, who I choose to spend time
with, who I care about, should not affect anyone elseâs life.â
I raised my hands in mock surrender. âIâm not here to judge you.â
She stepped closer and tapped me in the chest. âGood, because love shouldnât be like that. It shouldnât come with conditions or guilt. We should be able to all get along.â As if realizing the aggressiveness of her stance, she lowered her hand and stepped back. âSorry. I didnât mean to go off like that.â
âNot a problem.â It wasnât, but I couldnât say why. I was turned on and completely confused. Sheâd essentially said she loved her sugar daddy. Why wasnât that enough for me to lose interest in her? âMy intention wasnât to upset or insult you.â
She shrugged, looking lost for a moment in her own thoughts. She glanced at the building behind her. âYou live here too?â
âI do.â I also owned the building, but she didnât need to know that.
She gave me another long look, but this time it wasnât just desire I saw in her eyes. There was an openness in her gaze, uncomplicated, warmâdrawing me in. Her hand shot out in my direction. âThen letâs start over. Hi, Iâm Riley Ragsdale. Nice to meet you.â
I shook her hand, then continued to hold it. The temptation to brush my lips across hers was almost too strong to resist. I told myself her air of innocence was an act, but I understood why a man might pay a fortune to keep her around. âNice to meet you, Riley. Iâm Gavin Wenham.â If she
recognized the name, it didnât show in her expression.
I almost felt sorry for the man she was currently with. Whoever he was, she wouldnât be with him long.
Another burning Corisi romance about family crises, dark secrets, and unforeseen love.
Â
Riley doesnât want her mom to know that sheâs been seeing her newly discovered family, the Corisi clan. Rileyâs biological father made her motherâs life hell, and even though heâs dead, her fear of anyone who shares his last name lives on.
Everything with Riley would have gone easier if he had just lied to her about his meeting with her brother Dominic. The truth would have hurt her, and that was the last thing he wanted.
Â
He never wanted a relationship, but when he is forced to choose between business or a future with her, he realizes heâll choose her every time.
Â
Here are what readers are already saying about He Said Never
Â
Â
The running theme of The Lost Corisis is what makes a family. Is it love? Is it blood? Or is it hope? Cardello pulls emotions into the creation of a family that's been years in the making. Dominic Corisi continues to make for compelling storytelling and this time around, his long lost family takes center stage. He Said Never is a love story drowning in family chaos. Caught in the middle of it all is Riley. With an overbearing brother, A
wary mother and a family history that continues to haunt her present happiness, it's hard to guess if a happy ending waits on the horizon. Cardello keeps getting better.
Loved this book. I was really looking forward to Rileyâs story after meeting her in Gioâs book (He Said Always) and it did not disappoint. She has a heart of gold, always looking to please and Gavin is such an amazing foil for her and I absolutely love his strength and how he grows throughout the story. Ruth Cardello had built an amazing world and this book just adds to it. Canât wait for Rileyâs brotherâs book next!

Â
First off, I love Ruth Cardello books and the sense of family carried in each series. Dominic Corisi is such a strong character/personality he gets a couple of knock off series, that I love!
I was excited for Riley's story. Her connection with Judy and Leonardo is endearing, but I adored the vibe between her and Dominic. He was overprotective, way out of bounds, but it came from a place of fierce love.
Riley and Gavin as a couple were made for one another and hot. Both on paths of discovery in their own way, I really enjoyed their story.

Â
I just wanted everyone know that I took Gavin as my own. He was NOT playing with Dominic and did not bow down to him. Even Alethea couldn't put the fear in him. However, Riley brought him to his knees. Even Abby and Judy had him questioning his actions.
Riley my bad ass girl. Her fear of hurting everyone took my soul. It was about keeping the appearance and to save her mother from anymore fear and flashbacks of the past. Torn in all directions just to try to make peace and live a life that she wanted . Educated and determined to stand on her own two feet but with two strong willed men..... it was trying. Hats off to her though on the fuck-off mic drop. Standing ovation there for sure.
Ruth took my soul in chapter 13 and SebastiĂĄn truthism. Yeah you guys is going to love this book. Even little Leonardo will you have you in stitches.

Â
This should be a 10-Star Read!! Riley is an optimist and a strong believer in fate and Gavin is very cynical of life and doesnât believe in relationships. From the first time they meet you feel the sparks flying and it only gets better from there. This is not your usual enemies to lovers story, itâs better. I couldnât put it down!
Kal has always been willing to do whatever was necessary to support his mother and sister. Dancing for money? He did it without complaint and so well that he could finally pay off his motherâs medical bills. He was a heroâuntil he became an embarrassment when Dominic Corisi swooped in to âsaveâ his family.
Kal canât continue to be the man he was, but can refuse to be the one Dominic tries to mold him into.
Itâll take a strong woman to help Kal see that his anger is justified, but misplaced.
Love wins no matter how hard a man fights it.
